3D Priniting for Digital Production Technique - myassignmenthelp
Question: Discuss about the3D Priniting for Digital Production Technique. Answer: Introduction According to Wohlers (2014), we are ushering a new era of production know as 3D printing, a more digital production technique that addresses the challenges faced by traditional manufacturing methods that have changed the economic status of the world as stated by Weller, Kleer, and Piller ( 2015). The article therefore, examines the reasons that make 3D printing to be popularly referable as additive manufacturing, the suitability of the technique in terms of the level of production. The articles further examines the various areas of forecast by the leading firms that uses the technique and the traditional manufacturing that might be obsolete Why 3D Printing more appropriately called Additive Manufacturing 3D printing a system developed initially by Charles Hull in 1984 is definable as a process of using digital file to make three dimensional solid objects by laying down successive layers of material (Lipson, 2014). On the other hand, additive manufacturing refers to the production process through building consecutive segments of a foamless material from the powder to have various shapes of objects. The additive manufacturing system begins by application of powder material to the building platform that is fusible together by a powerful laser beam. On top of the layer, addition of another layer of powder followed by fusion so as to bond both the segments more strongly. As 3D focuses more on generating the prints through the use of the computer, the assembly of the final object is through the use of additive method thereby making the two terms of being interchangeably and appropriately used to refer to one another. Additive manufacturing is increasingly in use in a series of production b y the provision of the opportunity to create a distinctive profile based on the new customer benefits, cost-saving potential. Therefore, both the 3D printing and additive printing are almost the same with the difference only on the application of the individual process machine and the result (Majunder et at., 2016). Is 3D printing better suited for high or low volumes of production 3D printing is more suitable for low volumes production because of a number of reason explained. As much as 3D printing process allows the creation of the parts in pieces for later assembly, the final stage always tends to be tiresome and labor extensive in joining the parts (Tibbits, 2016). The 3D printing process does not require retooling in between productions runs thus the speed of assembling the objects in comparison to the traditional manufacturing tends to be lower. The low rate is as a result of each object requiring joining of successive layers at each time; with each new layer placed on top of the previous layer thereby taking a long time to produce a large number of products than when a few products is required. 3D printing is also most suitable for low volume production since the process cost on one item is always constant no matter the quantity of production, therefore when it comes to mass production such as injection moldings, it will be more costly than when the tradi tional manufacturing method is in use. In what situations is 3D printing most valuable In the healthcare sector, 3D printers versatility is very evidential in a great number of ways such as surgical aspects (Hornick, 2017). Today Surgeons are making plans of the operations by producing and reviewing the 3D printed replica of the physical problem that needs operation. Trough the method, it is easy for the surgeons to collect information on what the operational problem is thereby reducing the likely hood of any error. The 3D printing allows the production of the prosthetic limbs hence solving the issue to the individuals that are unable to cover the budget of contracting care as a result of the disability caused by the lack of any limb in the body. The 3D printed models also provide the medical students with a better and cheap way of studying the human anatomy other than requiring the cadavers for the same. 3D has revolutionaries learning system through by replacing the linear teaching methods with the two-dimensional thereby making it easy to grasp the concepts that historically been in perceptions to be difficult as students retain the ideas more easily. The interior designers build almost everything from the ottomans to enable them to set the tables and chairs choose suitable floor lamps, ceiling lights, and wall lights. 3D printing technique is also crucial for personal inventors and that individual that has the analogy of Do it yourself as they can develop the prototype of their ideas into the objects and they require without engaging the manufacturer and even run the test. Forecast for 3D printing by research and investment firms The leading companies that embrace 3D printing forecast in some issues such as the type of the printer, the type of the material, the amount to be customized and the cost of production. There are different types of printers and 3D printing technologies such as; stereo lithography that uses a UV laser beam to trace the first slice of an object on the surface thereby causing a fragile layer of photopolymer to harden. Fused deposition modeling is whereby hot thermoplastic excludes the print that its temperature is under control to produce fairly robust objects at a higher degree. The selective laser sintering technique builds objects through the use of a laser by selectively fusing together the successive layers of cocktails of powdered wax, metal, nylon, and ceramic. The investments companies also focus on the size and volume of the objects produced, since when the large capacity is in need within a short period, the cost of production tends to be higher than the traditional method hen ce making. How 3D printing make some types of traditional manufacturing obsolete According to Campbell, Williams, Ivanova and Garrett ( 2011), in the present day, about 0.01 of all manufactured products are 3-D printed showing that the technology significantly used to create prototypes enabling companies to transform the nature of production to more efficient and cost-effective ( Gordon, 2015). Research shows that about 30% of the spare parts suppliers currently are unable to meet the consumers demand, therefore, forcing most companies and people of about 47% that use the spare parts to embark on personal production through the use of 3D as stated by past research. As a result, the spare parts supplier tend to lose customers making the high probability of them adopting the same technique of 3D printing in the next few years. The ultimate effect will be that the production and supply-demand will be equitable and more customized products received with the shortest time possible. Recommendation and Conclusion 3D printing and additive manufacturing method go hand in hand as both include the fusion of layers on top of previous layers to achieve a specified object. The technique has a significant number of advantages that all aim at reducing the lead time, reducing the cost of production, facilitating innovation, reducing the workloads and also improving on the volume of the outputs. Every company requires gauging on the extent of the production engaged so as appropriate decision is made. Therefore, companies with the aim of growing and capturing customers needs and values need to embrace the technique to continue remaining relevant in the rapidly changing technological market. Comparison between the two movies free essay sample
The two movies of Romeo Juliet made according to the play of Shakespeare are very, very different from one another. Although some similarities occur but both are very different. The old one, released In 1968 by sufferable Is pretty long and follows the whole drama properly through out the movie. On the other hand the new one released in 1 996 by Alular is much quicker, lines are cut and more action is placed into It. I think this Is the case because the newer one Is made for the modern audience and teenagers Like us, who of course, dont Like long speeches cause we dont have much patience. Now lets get little specific here. Take for example the scene where the letter gets lost near the end of the movie, over here both the movies focus on the part that Romeo never gets the letter by showing us that he misses it by a nick of time. In the movie directed by Alular, Romeo misses the letter by Blathers (one of his servants he comes and gives Romeo the news that Juliet Is dead the fact that he has seen her in her tomb with his own naked eyes. Then Romeo is shown leaving in Balusters car, whereas the letterman remains unable to deliver the letter from the priest. In the old one the same technique is applied but its more into old style, that horses are used instead of cars. Not much music, action music or sad. So by this example we can see that the newer version is much quicker, more action and good. Therefore the newer one is better. Another solid example would be the death scene In both of the movie. In the old one, the death scene Is showed pretty long, It follows the book completely Its not much interesting to see, we need a lot of patience to watch It.First Romeo enters the tomb here Juliet Lies unconscious, he sees Juliet dead, then gives a really long speech and kills himself, and then the priest comes up and sees this event and by then Juliet Is directed to get up. Then Juliet gets up and sees Romeo dead, she refuses to go with him (the priest) and a speech is given then they show Juliet kill herself by suicide with the help of a dagger. This scene isnt that interesting in here, also it is very long. Whereas in the newer version by Alular, this is constructed and directed very differently. Lines are cut in the play, and the scene is very suspenseful. While Romeo is loving Juliet and kissing her. Her hands are moving and shes waking up! It is pretty suspenseful especially if you havent read the Romeo drama before you hardly can have a bit of clue of what will happen next. Is Juliet going to wake up, are they going live happily ever after or are they both going die! Also in both movies, equipment Is used differently. In Sufferable, horses and dagger are shown unlike In Alular cars and guns are more popular. Newer one seems more interesting to watch. And thats the one I enjoyed watching the most.

Public School Education free essay sample
Public education in the United States has become one of the largest and most dynamic quality control problems in our modern society. Despite our access to the technological advances of our time, we have been unable to maintain our preeminent status among the worldââ¬â¢s most educated societies. The Department of Education published data demonstrating that our rank has dropped from the leader in the educational field to the unthinkable rank of 19th in the world today (1). I would dissolve the present management system of decentralized and many times disconnected educational standards and implement a superior system which vertically integrates curriculum selection equivalent to the highest international level with teacher efficiency measurements and rewards to resurrect the United States public school education programs. Our governments departments of education could implement and regulate the quality of public education throughout the United States. Our current methodology allows individual states to implement standards, select curriculum programs and set qualification minimums for their teachers. We will write a custom essay sample on Public School Education or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page The result is that few if any of the states concur on the best academic solution for their students. Currently, a universally defined program of curriculum and instructor effectiveness measurement that is homogenously implemented by all states does not exist. Beyond the philosophical differences that state leaders may have, the three main issues which seem to be the most obvious hurdles are the unequal budgets, unequal certification standards for teachers, and a dearth of institutions within the states to train teachers to harness modern technology sufficiently and specifically. A possible solution to these issues would be to create a national program that not only standardizes curriculum programmatically but also regulates teachers unions and teachers groups to achieve the same standards and requirements of teaching acumen and curricula throughout the public school systems all over the United States. Establishing and implementing a pay scale for all teachers based on data that includes personal educational achievements, performance of their students on standardized tests, the difficulty of the curriculum that they are teaching as well as length of service as a teacher is the best resolution of teacher pay disputes. From this scale, which would have regionally measured cost of living benchmarks, teachers will be paid a set amount uniformly all over the United States. This solution would assist the boards of education of states in which the teachers have unionized and often wield their power detrimentally. Teachers need to have a uniform set of performance standards, uniform protocol and sequencing for implementing the curriculum, and a uniform menu of world class curriculum to follow. This renovated approach would ensure that the public education in the United States is in fact meeting higher standards and is equitably administered, regardless of the state in which one lives. If these new regulations were enforced, the system would eliminate much frustration and disharmony amongst teachers, reduce or negate teacher strikes which can be detrimental to the learning process of the students. Furthermore, taxes and fees originating from the nationââ¬â¢s tax base would be both indisputably disseminated by following the measurement matrix mechanism and consistently available on an annual basis. With these types of regulations and changes, it would ensure that students living in financially poor states would have the same opportunity to world class education as the students in a financially stable state. This system would raise the standards of public education, level the playing field for all students and allow them all an equal opportunity to succeed on a globally competitive scale. Mentality and Mindfulness Meanings
Mentality and Mindfulness Meanings Mentality and Mindfulness Meanings Mentality and Mindfulness Meanings By Mark Nichol Mental and its lexical relations, all pertaining to workings of the mind, as well as mind and words and phrases derived from that word, are listed and defined in this post. Mental Mental is descended from the Latin noun mens, meaning ââ¬Å"mind.â⬠It means ââ¬Å"pertaining to the mind,â⬠though it also has a slang connotation of being irrationally agitated, as when somebody is said to be ââ¬Å"going mental.â⬠Demented, likewise, is used both technically, to mean ââ¬Å"mentally impaired,â⬠and informally, to describe someone who is mentally unstable to a dangerous extent; dementia refers to cognitive impairment such as Alzheimerââ¬â¢s disease as well as to insanity. (Demential is a rare adjectival form.) Mentality means ââ¬Å"intelligence,â⬠though it more often refers subjectively to oneââ¬â¢s way of thinking, as in the phrase ââ¬Å"small-town mentality.â⬠Mentation, meanwhile, is the process of thinking, and from this word science fiction author Frank Herbert derived Mentat, the name of a class of humans endowed with powerful cognitive abilities who take the place of computers in a future technophobic society. Mentalist is a dated term for a mind reader, someone who claims to be able to detect the thoughts of others. The noun mention can refer to a formal acknowledgment of recognition (as in a special mention or an honorable mention) or can denote calling attention to something; it serves as a verb for both meanings as well. A mentor is a person who provides guidance and advice to a person seeking to develop knowledge and skills. The term mentee was superfluously coined to describe the latter person; protà ©gà © serves that purpose well enough. To comment is to note or remark, or provide an explanation or illustration, or a critique or judgment; as a noun, the word refers to any such communication. (A commentary is a formal comment, usually expressed in speech or writing, though it may also refer metaphorically to a phenomenon that unintentionally speaks judgmentally to a state of affairs, as in ââ¬Å"The unsightly litter is a sad commentary on the decline in the sense of personal responsibility.â⬠) A memento is an object that prompts memories, such as a souvenir. (The Latin phrase ââ¬Å"memento moriâ⬠means ââ¬Å"reminder of mortality.â⬠) A reminiscence is a recalled memory of an experience; to bring one to mind is to reminisce. The Latin forebear is seen in the Latin phrase ââ¬Å"mens rea,â⬠meaning ââ¬Å"guilty mind,â⬠and ââ¬Å"mens sana in corpore sano,â⬠which translates to ââ¬Å"a sound mind in a sound body.â⬠ââ¬Å"Compos mentis,â⬠meanwhile, means ââ¬Å"of sound mindâ⬠; ââ¬Å"non compos mentisâ⬠is a legal and medical term denoting the absence of a capacity to understand a situation. The ubiquitous suffix -ment, referring to a condition or state, an action or a location of an action, or an agent, means, or result of an action, is unrelated. Mind The word mind, from the Old English term gemynd, is cognate with mens as well as a href=http://monere, meaning ââ¬Å"warningâ⬠(the source of monitor, admonish, and other words). The noun mind is often considered synonymous with brain, referring in general to an organismââ¬â¢s mental activities and capabilities, but the latter term denotes the organ that controls body functions, prompts physical responses, and facilitates learning; the mind is more accurately described as the part of a person that thinks, reasons, decides, perceives, and feels. Other senses include ââ¬Å"memoryâ⬠(as in ââ¬Å"Keep that in mindâ⬠), ââ¬Å"intentionâ⬠(ââ¬Å"Have you changed your mind?â⬠), ââ¬Å"opinionâ⬠(ââ¬Å"She spoke her mindâ⬠), and ââ¬Å"moodâ⬠(ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢m not in a good state of mind right nowâ⬠). In addition, the word denotes a collective mental quality (as in ââ¬Å"hive mindâ⬠) or a person of superior intelligence (ââ¬Å"one of the great minds of our ageâ⬠). Meanwhile, a minder is someone who attends to or oversees someone or something. To mind is to attend to, notice, or pay attention, or to obey or follow instructions, or to be careful or concerned. A reminder is a note about something to remember or a memory aid; the verb form is remind. The phrase ââ¬Å"never mindâ⬠is employed to denote something less likely than something else (as in ââ¬Å"I couldnââ¬â¢t even run a mile right now, never mind a marathonâ⬠) and is an idiom meaning ââ¬Å"disregard what I said.â⬠The use of Nevermind as the title of an album by the band Nirvana likely contributed to the frequent erroneous occurrence of the phrase as a closed compound, but any treatment of the term as one word other than in a colloquialism such as ââ¬Å"It donââ¬â¢t make me no nevermindâ⬠(meaning ââ¬Å"It doesnââ¬â¢t matter to meâ⬠) is an error. To be aware or attuned is to be mindful; the quality is mindfulness. To be mindless is to act without thinking or using critical-thinking skills; mindlessly is the adverbial form. Mind control is the practice of influencing someoneââ¬â¢s beliefs, thoughts, and actions through hypnosis, propaganda, or other forms of persuasion or suggestion and, in fiction, manipulation of the personââ¬â¢s brain using some sort of technology. Meanwhile, a mind-set is a way of thinking. (Writers often treat this word as a closed compound, but dictionaries still favor the hyphenated form.) A mastermind is someone responsible for plotting or strategizing a scheme or a plan; the word is often used in the context of illicit or otherwise undesirable activities, as in ââ¬Å"criminal mastermind.â⬠One of limited intelligence or judgment is feebleminded (in the first sense only) or simpleminded. One who is forgetful is absentminded. Adverbial forms of these words are produced by adding the suffix -ly. Something that is astonishing, exciting, inspiring, puzzling, or otherwise stimulating or that has the potential to figuratively or literally alter oneââ¬â¢s perception is referred to as mind-bending, mind-blowing, or mind-boggling. Such a phenomenon itself is called a mind-bender, mind-blower, or mind-boggler. Want to improve your English in five minutes a day? BRAND MANAGEMENT AND RESEARCH Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words
BRAND MANAGEMENT AND RESEARCH - Essay Example To be able to become a market leader it is vital to guide or, to a certain extent, control the customers. If the firm, by means of the obsolete portion of marketing theory, merely follows what the customers want, the brand will certainly, in the future, be surpassed in the market. The explanation is that unless there is a zero turnaround time, or the possibility of delivering immediately what is demanded for, the firm will fail to keep up (Nilson 2003). By the time the firm has created, manufactured and delivered what the customers requested for, they possibly have modified their preferences or a competitor may have by then introduced something into the marketplace satisfying the demand. Moreover, it is not possible for a customer to identify what a producer can offer. Merely listening to customers is to abandon the brand to the consumers and the management of the firmââ¬âand abandoning accountability is seldom a way to develop a strong brand identity, value, image, and positioni ng. The objective of this essay is to analyse in detail the McDonaldââ¬â¢s brand in terms of its identity, value, image, and positioning. The Brand The significance of brand management is simply described by John Stewart, the CEO of Quaker Oats (Armstrong & Kotler 2007). He stated that ââ¬Å"If this business split up I will give you all the bricks mortar and land and I would keep the brands and trademarks, and I would fare better than youâ⬠(Armstrong & Kotler 2007, 214). This evidently means that a strong brand can be more priceless than all the assets of a firm which make brand management very crucial. According to De Chernatony (2006), ââ¬Å"a successful brand is an identifiable product, service, person or place, augmented in such a way that the buyer or user perceives relevant, unique, sustainable added values which match their needs most closelyâ⬠(p. 13). A brand, in addition, can be defined as a system of signs and symbols that engages the customer in an invent ed or symbolic process that provides tangible value to a product or service (Kapferer 2008). The symbol of McDonaldââ¬â¢s, which is an arching M, is only an M until every brand message has been sent or received by the potential customer. Herbert Rotfeld (2008) examines further the other abstract advantages and values branding can put in to a product or service. Similarly, Kapferer (2004) claimed that the brand is a mark whose objective is to express the hidden aspects of the product or service which are not readily available to the senses. McDonaldââ¬â¢s is considered as one of the most popular brands across the globe. This essay will show how McDonaldââ¬â¢s tries to constantly improve its brand by focusing on both its customersââ¬â¢ and brand ownerââ¬â¢s perspectives. It also acknowledges the various stages in the branding and marketing process. Branding builds an identity and image for an organisation, product, or service. In particular, the brand image implies how customers distinguish or recognise the company. The mechanism of brand management will only be effective when a company performs and communicates itself in a trustworthy way (Nilson 2003). Techniques of marketing communication, such as advertising and promotions, are used to build brand identity, images, appeal, and methods which provide the brand its particular image (p. 49). This is represented at McDonaldââ¬â¢s by its Golden Arches. The McDonaldââ¬â¢s Brand McDonaldââ¬â¢
